I don't think that's a factory seal...

Also, did CD singles cost $8+? I never really understood who bought CD singles at all. (Except for collectors, of course, but that's really small volume and they tend to buy them ten years later. Tongue) If you just want to listen to the music, buying the album is much more economical...

It’s likely these would have been more expensive in the US since they were imports.

A first edition of SubPop Bleach CD and these two were the first things that I have bought of the band. I have a special attachment to these 2 CDsingles. I have studied and studied and studied their designs and listened to them non stop. Marigold is still in my top 5!

These were NOT sealed.

They weren’t sealed in the UK but COULD have been when sold abroad.
I’ve a UK Lithium 7” which was never sealed in the UK but I’ve got a copy exported to the US and it’s shrink sealed.

when sold in Canada they were sealed.
Curiously HMV often had the UK pressings over the USA pressings.
Those are not how they were sealed here.

I thought that the singles box set used the regular AA/RM & HSB singles?
The others were unique, being that they were all slimline versions not previously available as such.

My recollection of the singles box set, was that it was a response by the record company to fill a need as the singles were VERY tough to find immediately following Kurt's passing.
By the time the set came out, I had managed (in a pre-internet world) managed to acquire them all, including several variants, so I never saw the appeal - then again, I would guess I was more dedicated to having them all than most.
